DALLAS – Upscale department store, Saks Fifth Avenue is pulling out of Galleria Dallas. The upscale store that holds tons of designer brands pulled out of Galleria Dallas back in June 15, 2013. General manager of Galleria Dallas, Angie Freed said changing Saks is understanding of changes in the marketplace. “Consumers, even the luxury consumer, no longer dress head to toe in designer. Even the Saks shopper also shops at Zara, Gap and Target,” Freed said. “They want the latest fashions and top brands at what they see as a good price.” Saks Fifth Avenue spokeswoman, Julia Bentley said there are no plans for another store in Dallas area. The 170,000 square-foot of Saks space will be replaced with Charlotte, North Carolina based Belk Department Store.
